The Cake Spa - Launch Weekend

Well what an August Bank Holiday Weekend! The official launch of The Cake Spa took place on 25-27 August 2018 at the Lichfield Food Festival. The weekend started with launch boxes sent to some venues and suppliers I would love to work with. The boxes got so much love - I cannot tell you!



So here the contents for those of you who are interested:

  • Nutella marshmallows

  • white chocolate covered oreos!



And the boxes were really gorgeous in dark grey with snap close and the logo in copper foil vinyl which was super lush!!



And then I had ta stall for the whole weekend at the Lichfield Food Festival, the largest free food festival in the UK, in my gorgeous little home city! I loved my set up so much and had so many lovely comments about it and my cakes!!



As well as displaying some wedding and occasion cakes, I also had cupcakes to sell. I upcycled an art exhibition case, added my gorgeous signs from BrambleSky on the front and Peggy from Greenery & Co came and sorted me out with some beautiful foliage.



I did six flavours of cupcake, some traditional (vanilla, chocolate & lemon) and some a bit different - Affogato, Kinder Bueno & Lotus Biscoff. The Bueno were by far the most popular!! I did different piping techniques on each and all had buttercream, a sauce and/or topper. I set them on the gorgeous concrete planters from Echo Design with personalised vinyl flavour tags - which got so many comments!



Everyone loved the cupcakes and said how beautiful they looked. I also made vanilla and salted caramel meringues as well as Nutella marshmallows for tasters to hand out - which obviously went down well. I think I may need to do more marshmallows as they were super popular. I also displayed some wedding cakes and occasion cakes, and people really appreciated my modern, bold and different style, which I am so pleased about!



Finally, I also ran a launch competition to win a buttercream cake through social media and so I did a concrete-effect cake to promote it - which was really popular! Can't wait to pick a winner!



So despite mixed weather and a lot of sheltering in my gazebo, I met a lot of followers, prospective brides and customers, hasdso much support from family and friends. I also met a lot of local people and businesses who I can wait to support further and work alongside sometime soon including many neighbouring stalls from Stowe Fields - Melbourne in Lichfield, Tralier Made Cocktails, Fifth Spire Gin, The Spirit Works and Poms. So a big thank you to everyone and especially to the guys at Cockerhoop Creative for all their hard work in running such fabulous events on my doorstep!
